Founded in Athens, Greece, SERAPIS is a hybrid entity that charts the waters of the Greek maritime industry by way of fashion, art, and design. Like tying a sailor’s knot, SERAPIS weaves humanistic narratives of the sea, shining a light on the people behind the country’s monolithic seabound industries. The label’s textile objects — handcrafted garments and homewares — are populated with these stories: photo–real portraits of seamen, artist–rendered depictions of sealife, and AI–generated patterns that speak to the culture that ebbs and flows around Greece’s coastal regions. Handcrafted by Greek artisans from the country’s cotton and Soufli silk, each SERAPIS piece is imbued with the life of the local shipping and manufacturing industries.
