Bureau213 is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition and pop-up shop made in collaboration with Mintprints. We present INANIMATE, a photography exhibition featuring works by Yuhao Chang, Jennifer Cheng, Puzzleman Leung, Tum Lin, and Foo Ying.

At first glance, the selection of participants for this group show might seem peculiar - a mix of creatives who hail from different backgrounds, and who operate in separate fields. What ties the work together is their affinity to present inanimate objects in both beautiful and mesmerizing ways. Art reflects the reality of our daily lives and surroundings, and as we have seen in our current climate, this can so easily be disrupted, flipped, and altered. What happens when the people we are so used to seeing every day are suddenly unavailable to us?

Some artists show us the mundane and the quiet. Jennifer Cheng explores household objects in the same ethereal manner that she is known for in her commercial work, and evokes a similar dreamlike reaction. Puzzleman Leung turns found objects into models, arranging his still lifes until they seem pronounced and purposeful. Tum Lin ventures outside. His serene landscapes are abstract, yet familiar. An anonymous figure in the water shot from a distance also lends a feeling of innocent voyeurism and curiosity.

The works will be shown alongside new collections from Bureau213. In addition, there will be a winter sale for our previous season pieces. Prices will be adjusted accordingly and only available in person during our limited pop-up period.
